More About Hermana Mago. Amazing Story

My week was pretty interesting. The battle for the Sister Mago was a battle as always.. haha she got chivied or like freaked out and super nervous, but we have a super awesome Relief Society President who came with us to the lesson and got her animated again. But then the day of the baptism happened and it just went nuts, and was the most sketch baptism ever. So this sister is older, has a quarter of a lung left, and is terrified of water, and she can't get baptised in cold water because she might die, oh and she has knee problems, and can't bend her knees, and she is extremly round. So it was just a battle. Nuf said haha. So we were both going to baptize her because she was so large, (which was the best decision we ever made) and we put a chair into the font to baptize her. But the first time, half her body floated, and didn't go in and only dunked her head in, but she freaked out under the water, and inhaled water. and like almost like died... it was aweful. Then when she calmed down she was like I will not get baptized if I have to do that again. but we closed the font and had like the greatest 4th quarter pep talk ever, and she decided to try again and we brought a smaller chair in, and but then we realized that wasn't going to work either, and then the third time we ditched the chair, and I basically held the woman underneath the water and I looked up, and I could see all  the people outside just praying super hard including her family who aren't members, but die hard catholics.  I was praying so hard because, to be honest, I didn't know how I was going to get her out of the water if we got her under because I was like carrying her.  But then this woman showed more faith and willingness then I had ever seen, (you could just see the fear on her face) and put all her trust in me that I could get her out (she weighed close to 300 pounds) and then we went through with the baptism and I  pushed her under and then went under the water myself (that must of been how alma felt in the book of mormon haha), and then I don't know how but we got her out, and she came out and was just sobbing and then (sorry it finally happened on my mission) we just hugged in the font with her just sobbing and saying thank you. It really touched my heart, but she was so happy. It was the greatest act of faith I had ever seen :) and offically the coolest most special baptism i ever had, just comes to show that the coolest moment is always still to come. I had changes this week. Elder Muir went to my old area is Salina Cruz and my new comp will be one of my homies Elder Luna. I'm pumped! Sadley we aren't expecting a baptism tell  next week. But Im just super happy.

Love you guys, write me!!

Josephina's Baptism - Great Lady!!! Dec 7. 2014

Another Baptism! Yahoo December 6, 2014

Hey, how are you guys doing??
Me. I am chill and well just kicking it here in Mexico.

Anyways, A little bit about my week!!

So this week JOSEFINA GOT DUNKED!!! She really had one hard week though, which always happens the week of a baptism. Her 14 year old daughter in law just decided she didn't want to take care of the baby so Josefina decided she was going to take in the baby til the girl decides to accept the life she chose, and stopped working. Plus her daughter who is a member got in a big fight with her, and she was super sad and depressed and wasn't going to get baptized, but then this women decided to show her faith in God and go through with the baptism even with all the problems that she was having. Then like a miracle  happened the day of her baptism. Everything came together, and she fixed things with her daughter and her daughter in law decided to take care of the baby again. and then she had an awesome baptism. and then to top things off the Hermana Mago who we have been fighting, to get her baptised (she was the one that was scared of her family and she still worshipped the virgen and drank coffee).  Well she received her answer, stopped drinking coffee, and talked to her sister and family who said they would sopport her for her baptism!! And then she saw Josefina's baptism and now she is going to get baptized this week :D Yeah super excited plus she has a family of like 40 living with her, and since she is the boss or the grandma of every one, I think that they will follow her example :D I am so excited!. We have the Christmas concert coming up again (this year Im NOT going to be a tree.. ) haha but alls good in zion

Love you guys :D

Busy Week - November 29.2014

Alrighty, this week was a pretty good week. We had a reward week! haha! We have been grinding it out, and finally the blessings came. We finally got Juana to church. Her "husband" finally moved out, and her Little kids are finally all going to church together! It's intersting because these kids are like devils when they don't go to church .haha! Well they have probably the worst examples ever! haha! Their brother, who was raised by her ex husband, grew up exactly like his dad, and now he has two kids at 19, and beats his kids and his wife, and is the meanest guy in the world to his wife and well everyone.  Mago is getting better. The only thing that's holding her back from baptism is her family. They are saying that if she gets baptized they will stop talking to her.. but she says she is almost ready to take the step. Sister Josefina has really stepped it up. She has had a lot of problems. Her kids' girlfriend Melany (barely turned 15) just had a baby, and it means that Josefina has to take care of two little girls. The new infant and also Melany who acts like any 14 year old girl. haha! You guys know how it is haha, but yeah she is holding strong, and says she wants to get baptized this Saturday!!! I'm really excited!! We also found this awesome kid named Jesús. He is a stud. He went to church the day after we found him. We are actually having alot of success, but the thing is getting these people to go to church 5 times!! Gosh sometimes its super hard, haha, but oh well. Do what you got to do!
I'm happy, and I hope you are all happy too :)

November 16, 2014 Time is Zooming!!

Well this week was super genial or cool. We worked pretty hard, and I would say that we are making a lot of good progreess with Mago. She went to church for the 5th time, but she is old and is having trouble stopping worshipping the Virgin Maria, but she says that she has stopped, and is going strong for the baptismal date for this week. So hope that goes through!!

I"m still grinding it out here in Bosque.
I really didn't have anything out of the ordinary happen this week.. haha
Loving life, life is good.

Baptism of Josue and Ulyses - Nov 9, 2014

Woot!! Another Baptism!!! November 9, 2014

Ok first of all, had an amazing week. Finished off changes really well with a baptism!!!! Woot!! Ulyses got baptized by his son Brian (who got baptised 3 monthes ago). It was such an awesome experience. Mostly because the guy had some serious problems with his family and made a 180 change for the best, and then recieved the priesthood right after from his son. It is just another example that the gospel blesses familias who live the gospel. and also some sad news. hma magos kid got diagnosted (however you spell it) with cancer :( and also ham juana's  -who was going on strong for her baptisms- granddaughter received the wrong medicine, and got sent to the emergency room and is in a coma.. but they are showing alot of faith and are saying that if they can find peace and comfort, they will get baptised. We also found this awesome sister named Carmen who is awesome. She read the proc to the familiy and wants to join the church, but the only thing is just like all problems in Mexico, her husband is against it,,, men hahahaha Anyways I'm happy. I'm going to be staying another change with my homie muir. Hopefully we can put some batteries into this Zone so that it can start baptizing.

Love you guys- keep being awesome people :)

November 2, 2014 Another Week

This week was the day of the dead-- which means every one ditched church to go worship the dead #apostasy-  all of our investigators bit the dust and didn't go to church and went to the cemetry.. but the good knews is Ullyses went to church and it looks good to get baptized this week!! WOOT SO FREAKING EXCITED!!! So we are pretty sure that's going down. Well to be honest that's the only good thing that happened this week. Let's just say we felt satans forces this week, and so we are upping our game and saying bring it on this week! haha

Love you guys,

October 27, 2014 Great Week - Again!

Ok about my week.. well we had another good one! We are really finding some people who are progressing well, and the family mago came to church to make a total of 12!! Woot!! a family of 7 and then some solos that seem super awesome. I hope they keep progressing to get baptized next change!! (I'm pretty sure I will be here next change)  We have an investigator named Josefina, and  she has had troubles going to church because she is super poor and sells on Sunday, but we had a super lesson and told her that God would take care of her if she stopped working on Sunday, and she never ever would go before. But this Sunday she showed up and went to church for 3 hours and loved it!! She says that she wants to get baptized for sure now. She just has to go to church 3 more weeks and we will dunk her. plus my mago loves church. she  is acting like she wants to get baptized too, and also we have this Ulysus who has stopped drinking (and a bunch of other stuff) and wants to get baptized!! I'm super excited!! It seems like every day is like a roller coaster. Well it's like super hard up until God just blesses you immensely for like a split second, and it makes all the hard work and suffering worth it!!

Love it-  love you guys!!}

October 20, 2014 Whirlwind Week

This was definitely a grind week. We went hard in the paint mentally and physically.  We were expecting to have an amazing  Sunday!  We were really excited to have lots of investigators go to church.... but we just got shot down. All of the super sweet pilas people couldn't go-- including  sister Paula who was supposed to get baptized this week.. We don't know what happened. She has gone to church like 6 straight Sundays, and now won't answer her phone.. We went and talked to her son who wouldn't talk to us, and basically told us to go get lost... ah...

But Sister Mago and her grand daughter went, and afterward said they want to get baptized!! Woot!! :D

A few quick funny stories: first one is that some times some people get onto buses and sing and beg trying to get money and stuff, but this time a group of clowns got on  the bus. Just a little bit about clowns here, they are actually super popular (weird right?) and there are two types:  rude vulgar clowns and then there are kid clowns and these ones were rude ones haha.  So I and muir knew we were screwed, and that these clowns were going to try to embarrass the snot out of us haha.  We were right . These two clowns just attacked us, and they had a dumb act where one tries to kiss me.... hahaha, and then when he was actually going to kiss me i had to like awkwardly push him off me haha. Then he goes at me with his tongue out... hahaha they got a good laugh hahaha.

Then we got trapped into a lesson with a RC and her drunk husband and then in the middle of the lesson he jumped up and started yelling and charged us, but then to our rescue came drunk number two haha and stopped him and then as they were fighting we slowly snuck our way out with the RC.

Guys hear are terrible!!!!! We are also teaching this 24 year old whose  husband just left her. She was so sad. Talking to us was the only thing that could make her smile... ah we have  6 families like that too. There is a special place for ....men (I was thinking a little stronger word). But at the end of it all we are teaching this super cool little girl named Nicole who has already read 15 chapters in the Book of Mormon!! :D Lets just say she is awesome!

Love you guys have an amazing week :)

October 12, 2014 Super week!!

Yeah I feel weird being in this fresa area (fresa means strawberry which means fancy in spanish too haha), and it's weird having a companion who wants to get it done, and help and baptize people, but also have fun! We are totally working hard and  playing hard haha.  It's just way fun. He actually wants to invite the entire zone to play some hoops, and then eat pizza after (pday of course). My other comps never wanted to learve the house. I think to be able to work hard, you have to be able to laugh, and enjoy the small things like a sunset (the sunsets here in bosque are amazing. (going to show you one day don't worry :) ) I actually enjoy working out, too, because my comp does it with me. hahaha It's not so freaking hard to do now haha. But it's also cool because we also are going hard in our area too. We found this awesome family called the family mago, and its like a gold mine!! She (mago) has like 20 family members who would follow her footstps evenetually if she got baptized!! And this week we had a member go by and brought like 12 people to church, and 7 of them are old enough to get baptized!! I'm so excited to help them out! We also have 6 other investigators that want to get baptized, but just need a little work.  It is just super exciting. I can't wait to see what happens!!

Well that's all I have for you homies.  Love you guys, lots, always in my prayers.

Worldside Conference Weekend - October 4,5 2014

My week was awesome. So I'm with my homie muir and we are just getting ready to kill it. We don't have a lot of investigators right now, and this zone needs alot of work. They average  4 baptisms  a month as a zone. Pretty down haha. Oh on a good note my last zone in Salina Cruz doubled the amount of baptisms as any other zone and baptized 22!!!! The most by a single zone in like more then a year! That was a miracle by itself!! But to be honest I am so excited to be in this zone. It's definitely a zone that needs some animation!  With muir we are just going to get it. He is my first comp that actually wants to go all out and get it done like me :D   I'm just so excited!! :D   My new area is kind of chilly. It's awesome!! The view is awesome  It's a nice area (which is weird). I have heated water!!! AND I'm not always sweating!!! It's sick! haha but the people are a little better off and so they are a little bit more difficult to get to. But I'm excited for the challenge.  Love you guys. Keep being awesome!! What did you like most about conference???

September 21, 2014 Another Wonderful Miracle!

So to be honest we have kind of been a little sad, because we have lost a lot of cool investigators, and were having trouble finding people willing to progress, but we did a special fast and really have had some miracles. The first one is of a kid named Julio. He is 20 years old and his entire family are members for the last few years but he hasn't wanted to get baptised for these 2ish years and has had more then 19 missionaries teach him and try to convince him to get baptised. But he never wanted to join the church. So a few weeks ago (as it has happened like 10 times before) he said he wanted to get baptized, but then right before the interview he bailed and said he wasn't ready. We talked to him again, and he said he would do it next week, but we got to the interview and he said no again.. But we didn't give up and visited him every day and brought like every member over to his house, did another special fast cleared up all his doubts, and he finally accepted to get interviewed and passed, but then that Saturday he bailed again and said he wasn't ready!!! Ah so saddening, but we didn't give up, and had a battle (it felt like) and finally we figured out he didn't feel worthy to get baptised because he said he could never be perfect. Then we had one of the most spiritual lessons of all time about Jesus Christ, and he accepted baptism and then that same Friday before his interview expired we baptised him!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!! One of the most awesome victories of all time I could just feel God was happy and 18 missionaries were jumping up and down!! Woot!! It was legit!!!!!
And then I had a multi zone conference and talked to the people in my old areas and found out that three people I was teaching in my first area got baptized, and then in my old area, the family of Victoria and the deaf girl (new pres gave her permission to get baptised) gosh hearing about those 7 people just made me realize that sometimes I won't see the success and the final part of what I do but if I give my all it doesn't matter God will be happy with what I do.
I also had to go check 3 houses of disobedient missionaries  - things I have to do as a zone leader.... they were all sleeping at like 9 and had been doing stuff with member and recent convert girls... broke my heart to see these missionaries throwing away this gift to serve Him.. but oh well. i have seen it alot hah but it still sucks. But besides that I had an amazing week :) and I ate lots of tortillas

Love you guys, love Elder Davenport

September 14th, 2014 Funny Things Happen - Dogs n Baptisms.

Hi Fam, So this week with me was really cold!! We got hit by some storms, and it was cool which was AWESOME until you had to take showers! Freak it was so cold! I always shower with cold water, but it's ok because it is hotter then hadies, but when it is cool outside it was like icicles. It doesn't help that we use well water, which is super cold too haha. And to top it off we played basketball as a zone, and I used muscles that I have lost haha, so I was hurting, but my comp had some weird desire that when we got lost in the hills, instead of walking along the highway, he was like "lets just climb this mountain and see if we can get home that way." He wanted to go so bad that I gave in, but once we got to the top we  realized that we had 8 more mountains to climb which took us 3 hours to climb; lost like 4 appointments, and the last hill to get back into the city had a pack of around 11 dogs ruling the top of it. We didn't know so we started walking up and when we got to the top they came out of the bushes and  attacked me. (my comp was like 5 steps away) but I picked up a few rocks and these dogs stopped but my comp didn't stop, and started running to the top of the hill, and just left me surrounded by these dogs... freak I like panicked and chucked the rocks and started running up this hill, but they started to catch me, and I turned around to kick one of them and ended up falling on my butt haha (well at that moment not so funny) usually when the thing the dogs are chasing falls on the ground they all ponce and totally destroy it.. so I was utterly terrified (this didn't help me learn to love dogs) haha so they surrounded me, and I was like so this is it how lame a pack of wild dogs in Mexico is going to do me in .. haha but istead they all just ran away!! A freaking miracle seriously I definitely was protected!! :) I thought my comp threw a rock but he just thought it was just so funny haha.. Well looking back it was pretty funny haha. Anyways my story for this week!! Anyways the lady whose pug bit me said she is going to get baptised this week!! woo!!! She is super awesome just someone waiting to have her dag bite a missionary so that she could get baptized! Oh and just so you don't think I hate dogs. I actually love them just as long as they aren't pugs and they dont chase me :)

I'm happy serving the lord in Mexico. Read your scriptues and pray :)

September 10, 2014 Time is Zooming!

So this week was a really humbling week. Found this investigator, his name is Adolfo. He is 11 whose mom and dad adopted him, but they are like 80 years old. and the mom just got her leg amputated , and can't move. They have adopted 8 kids, but now they don't have money to provide for them.. It's so sad.. And we can do nothing, but bring them the spirit, and do service, and try our best to be saviors in their lives!! It is so special to be helping them. :) We also put a date to baptise the lady whose dog bit me ;)  Painful way to start a conversation ;) haha but God works in mysterious ways!

August 10,2014 Another Great Baptism!! Yahoo!

Soooo crazy  - this week!!!!

So first off, the wife of Francisco got baptised!! It was actually really hard because they were going to leave for Mexico City for two weeks so we would have to do the confirmation after the baptism. But that NEVER happens. In fact there is a rule from the first presidency that says you have to do the confirmation during sacrament so we had to get special permisoin from a member of the 70 to do it!!! But we got permision and dunked her and confirmed her. But then it was super awkward because their boss told them they wouldn't have to leave tell next week.. so she went to church anyways. hahahaha

So we are working with this family of Rosa and Julio and they were having alot of problems and weren't going to get sealed in the temple.. But we have been working with them alot and they decided to go to Oaxaca to get sealed and invited us haha so we called Pres and because our Pres is sick he gave us permision to jump in their car for 6 hours go to Oaxaca go do the sealing with them and come back the next day. It was solo awesome! Wow I had never seen a sealing before it really was super special. I'm so blessed to be part of that family's life :) Heck Im blessed to be part of all these peoples lives.

I love you guys and I'm always praying for you guys :)

August 5th 2014 Baptism :)

Another Great Baptism! August 5, 2014

So Girberta got baptised!!!! It was so awesome!!! She was so emotional, and ready to start over a new life. I got to meet her cute little girls for the first time, and I realized that her baptism also is changing that families entire future. So special. And then also that Sunday some guy just showed up to church and  I went to church  in a diffrent state and said he wants to get baptised. And then Fransisco's wife got back and felt super bad that she left and wants to get baptized, so I am hoping her husband (who just received the priesthood will be able to do her baptism!!! I'm so excited!!! They know their goal and that is to enter the temple!!! :D I'm so excited for them.

I also had to give a zone conference too! To be honest that was a little scary haha because it wasn't like a talk or a district meeting or even teaching members. It was a bunch of missionaries who most of them have more time in the mish and are secretly judging your every move! haha but it went awesome!!! It was fun and my zone seems way cool. Just a couple of rule breaking district leaders with  20 monthes are the only problems because they don't like the idea of a missonary with only year above them.. ahh oh well. I will have to earn their love some how haha but had divisions or exchanges with one of them and we got along way good so liitle bit at a time right?? haha
Anyways I am going to have a year.. wow! that was fast. What have I learned.. Well I have learned alot!! and I have changed a lot. I wouldn't say changed. I would more say gotten better. I'm still JD. I just am a better JD. haha And I know that the most important thing in the entire world is your relationship with God. And how you show your love for God is what really counts.
Love you guys

Another Baptism! July 27,2014

So a little about my week. It was awesome!!! Had a baptism!!! Heck yeah. His name is Fransisco. The most prepared baptism I have ever seen. He was so ready. We didn't even have to teach him anything. But his wife got cold feet to get baptised and bailed to Mexico a week before the baptism but he was like I am getting baptised even if you aren't here. So he got baptised. And his wife feels bad and is coming back next week to get baptised too :D They still want to get married in the temple, So I am really excited for them.

We are expecting another baptism from one of the most amazing people ever. Her name is Girberta. She is 37. Can't read. Her son just got shot and killed (was 14). Her entire life she has been abused. People just steal from her just because she can't count. Like she should of got paid like 15 dollars a day and instead they would give her 15 dollars a week (for 12 hours everyday) It is so aweful she has 4 kids and the dad left her and the members have taken her in and are starting to teach her how to read and are finding her good jobs and stuff like that. She has gone to church 6 times but because she is really slow and can't read the book of mormon my comp didn't want her to get baptised even though she has been begging us to allow her to follow Christ and get baptised.. But I finally talked to pres and he said to baptise her so if everything goes good she should get baptised :D

We had a zone leader conference in the city this week!! wooh!! Got to go to Oaxaca!! woot!! And in this meeting they basically made us super powerful. The Pres was like, I trust you guys. Do whatever you want. and what ever we need to help our zones.!! I'm soo pumped.  I am going to buy a ukeleli or a guitar don't know yet! haha, and I'm going to go take a picture on the beach!! :D

The only other thing is that we might have the most golden baptism ever this week we will see :)
So I was not really working. It was more like traveling and stuff like that...

But we found a family Fransica and his wife Nelly. They lost a kid before he was born and the father has read the Book of Mormon, and wants to get sealed in the temple with his family for all eternity.

My house doesn't have water right now.. haha I stink haha. My new area is beautiful!! It's right on the beach!! It's bane is the salty cross or salina cruz!
There are all these hills so Im getting my legs pretty ripped!!

Marco June 29.2014 Yahoo! Baptism date.

Marco Was Baptized!! June 29, 2014

So Marco got baptized!!! WOOT WOOT!!! It was a grand adventure for sure!! haha First of all the church ran out of water (here in Mexico we have these giant water tanks that every month a car comes by and fills it up) and we were only able to fill up the font to write below our knees.. haha But Marco being a stud, didn't want to wait and was like you can baptise me in this puddle. So we had his baptism in like this puddle in the font haha. I admit we had to do it three times because he had to literally lie down horiziontally in the water haha. It was soo fun! and even though it wasn't the best of circumstances Marco was awesome!!! :)
Sorry had to do some paper work today so didn't have alot of time

June 22, 2014 Another Baptism Coming Up!

This week for me was a little rough for one of my really awesome investigators that I found dropped us.. he had gone to church 3 times and was so excited to get baptized.. he believed in everything, too. But his family is part of some  Christian church so they told him he can't listen to us anymore.. It was way sad. But!! God Always answers prayers, and put someone else in our path to get baptized!! His name is Marco, the reason that I didn't think he was a whole lot interested was because I thought he was gay, haha funny quick story;
So we were teaching Marco and his friend Jonathan and his friend Jonathan asked us what the church stand point was on gays. So we told them that it is just like any other sin but that if it is a commandment of God we can overcome it and if they want to get baptized they have to follow this commandment and told him the regular lw of chastity stuff haha. Anyway they went super silent and we thought they are gay... this now just became super awkward... hahaha but we played it off in a respectful way and left. When we went back Marco told us that Jonathan doesn't want to listen anymore.. apparently he is cross dresser in the night.. eh..(actually he is always the first one at church, even beats us there) and even though we don't have a lot of people at church he loves the feeling he gets when he's there. We were almost not able to baptize him because we had to get special permision from Pres because he leaves for vacation after his 5th Sunday at church, But for the 1st time ever Pres actually approved him to get baptized this week!! WOO HOO!! :) a week early!! So we should have a baptism this week!! :D

We had an amazing experience this week!! We have this investigator Micaela who can't hear, or sign, or read.. but she loves the feeling she gets in the church. and can explain herself, but in her own litttle language. She is super smart, but when we talked to Pres about her getting baptized he said that she has to learn sign language, and someone has to teach her all the lessons so that she understands every little thing, even though we were able to comunicate to her pretty well with a white board, and she has an awesome desire to get baptized.. and we have to get permision from her mom.
So her mom lives like 6 hours away.. so I kid you not, Micaela (the girl who is 26) tells her mom to come visit through her sister, and she shows up the next day and gave her permission!! :) but now we just have to find a person who knows sign language, but we are making progress! It might take her 6 months but one day she will get baptised!! :D

That's it folks love you guys. thank for the emails :) I am tired but I bought some good food so I will eat it to have energy :)

June 16, 2014 Where Do You Stand?

We had some interesting experiences this week. One of my favorite investigators, Flor, is really progressing well. We taught her from the scripture in Luke 13: 23- 25 about why few are saved. It talks about how the path is narrow and hard and those who don't follow it in the last day will knock and knock, but then God says, "No se de donde sois", which is to say that I don't know to where you stand. You can't enter my kingdom. She felt the spirit super strong and promised to prepare herself to get baptised next week. She really is awesome, by far my favorite investigator. It has been an awesome experience to watch her change her life, and try to prepare for this baptism. But it also brings up a good question. Where do we stand? Where do I stand? Am I living along this hard and narrow path. Will God be able to recognize me?? It is one thing that I want. I want God to be able to recognize me at the last day and to know where I stand. I have to say there is one thing that I actually learned from our multi zone conference this week and it was to live the charity of Christ and really love every one I teach. Because with this love, we can actually help those we teach more because we love them.

It is also a question we can all ask our selves, too.
Well, love you guys. Keep being awsesome :) LOVE hearing from you guys :)

Another Baptism! June 8, 2014

So this week was a super interesting week, first of all our week started off with us finding our ex-mission leader hammered in the street after our Monday night proselytizing. He was so hopeless.. He couldn't even move, he was so hammered, and he was laying in the middle of the street. I couldn't just walk over him soIi picked him up and carried him back to his house. But then when I went back in the morning, he just told me to.. well he just said some really aweful swear words. It really broke my heart. I really loved that man, and to watch him destroy his life is really tough.

Oh and then the girl who was going to get baptised said she didn't want to get baptised, but then we went, and had a really spiritual lesson, and she started to cry, and became like the most willing person to get baptised I have ever seen!! It was soo cool!!

Oh and then we also are teaching this deaf girl!! She is the cutest thing ever. It's just a little hard because she doesn't know how to read or how to sign. But she saw a baptism and wants to get baptised!! So I am going to do my best to help her make that covenant with God :)

Gosh we had an awesome experience! So it was late one night, and I was so super tired and it was 8.50pm and we didn't have anyone else to visit so we went home because our curfew was 9pm anyways, but we get there, and I had this feeling to go talk to one more person. So we left and went to one of the poorest families I know and we started talking to the mom(we teach her kids) who wants nothing to do with us and is catholic, but for some reason even though her kids wernt there she et us in and we startd to talk to her and her sister. So w start to tech them and th sister tells us that there is no God and a this stuff. and we were like oh well.. but we were going to end with a prayer and we askd her to say it and she says ok but I want feel anything. She says my heavenly father and then starts to ball her eyes out and pour herr whole soul to God. And after she told us that we had to be angles to have camee in such a trying time of her life aparently her husband just got murded like 3 monthes ago and she was super deprssed. It seriously was just another testimony to me about whoes errand we are on and whose work this is.

Oh and some elder broke the rules so we had special changes and another elder who has 23 months in his mission is my comp now as they took my kid who I freaking loved  but ni modos whatever if that's what God needs I'll do it :) and love every moment at the same time :)

May 25,2014 - Wow, What a Week!!!!

So now a little about some of my experiences!!! First of all!!! I found my ex mission leader wasted on the street... yeah that sucked.. haha and then I talked to my comp, got him on my side, and then we went ham. we just went to all the members houses, and just told them that they were going to stop messing around, and help us resurrect the ward, and then we just brought them to meet our investigators, and had them invite them to church, and then we just put in the grind the rest of the week, and went and picked up a little boy, and then we walked into the church building expecting to see an empty chapel with out our members or our investigators but then I kid you not, the chapel had 50 people in it, and 12 of our investigators!!!! Sitting with members!!! I almost cried!!

One of our really tough families whose dad drinks, and beats the kids and cheats on his wife showed up and seriously were like so excited and also our Jehovah Witness and our Jew (he decided he was a jew haha) showed up along with alot of our awesome investigators. So exciting it only took 3 months of suffering in this little patch of dead ground but now I have seen this ward get changed around!!! I am SOOOO excited!! but now I just need to help these people get in the water!

Yeah it was an awesome week and I freaking am excited. I love you guys please be safe!

May 18,2014

My week was awesome!!! My ward is starting to help me a lot, but we still need more help to have the success we need.
We have 70 investigators about 20 way cool people, but they just won't go to church. Well about more then half won't go... we need our members to help us out, but they are "too busy" or are always having problems among them selves. Oh and my comp doesn't like the amount of work we have been doing, and says he is too tired to work at such a pace, and doesn't want to help me out, and says if I don't take a step back he won't help me.. freak.. We get along well, but he just doesn't seem to like how I work.. But we are doing our best. hopefully we can be on the same page this week.

Hope dad is doing all right.. will pray for him.

May 11, 2014

This week was so up and down! We are so close to having alot of really awesome progressing investigators, but alot of things that we had no control happened.. so that was tough. It's just like one second of the day is like wow that was awesome, we are going to have a lot of success, and then the other half is like dang that sucked, we have no one, haha, but in the end God always has our back with a small miracle to lift our spirits! Just realized that one of our coolest investigators is a muslim, and is wife is a Jehovah Witness which are the two most impossible people to convert so yeh I am excited. Hope that turns out good!! But besides that I am still really dirty all the time. I am just waiting for a day to shower with clean water haha. I am tempted to go buy some bottled water, and fill up a bucket and use that haha, but its not that bad but still I am sweating buckets and still here doing the best I can every day!
PS I LOVED TALKING TO YOU GUYS :)

Week Before Mother's Day 2014

The Miracle girl?..  Well she didn't pan out. We are working on her next week because her mom told her to go to the goma if she gets baptised  which basically means she will disown her.. so that sucked.. But we had the most people that this ward has had at church since at least a year ago  So that was awesome!!!1 My ward is getting a little bit more excited to help us out now. Here in Mexico the only way to have success is through the members, and they sre starting to help out al ittle so we will see what happens. Here in this land of endless sun and sweating, we are just working the hardest we possibly can, and hoping that God blesses us. And to be honest I can see that God is blessing us with small miracles every day!! :)

OH AND HAPPY MOTHERS DAY :))))

April 27, 2014 - It Is Going Fast

My week was a crazy week!! My ward has so many problems. All the members just fight every day, and people are slowly stopping to come to church. Our mission leader just said he wants nothing to do with the church, and stopped coming to church and refuses to talk to any member. We are still working super hard, but now we are about to have more people in sacrament meeting who aren't members then members. It's really frustrating, and I'm pretty stressed out... but we found a miracle person!!
We were contacting people, and we found this girl who had been going to church, but the missionaries couldn't baptise her because she was going to the wrong ward( not the one in her area), and the missionaries forgot to pass the reference, so she just never got baptised!! But she went to church 6 times, so she wants to get baptised next week!! WOO! I'm pumped! 1 hope it pans out!!
We found 30 new investigators this week who seem way cool! but all we need is for the members to quit fighting and help us out. Oh and I also had an awkard lesson where the mom (Bishop's wife) started bathing her 13 year old daughter, naked right in front of us.... Sometimes I ask my self where the freak am I?   hahaha  It was suuuuupper awkward ,and weird. We had to end that lesson and leave fast hahahaha....

Yeah but everything is good with me. Send my love to Grandpa Wengreen:( hope everything is alright with him I will be praying for him.

Easter in Mexico

Well this week was a little better!! but.. we now had more less actives at church then our active members!! My members are starting to get lazy!! We had 5 priesthood holders at church including us....  But we found two, way cool families this week who seem pretty interested in the gospel!!! I'm way excited for them!! Oh, and then for Easter week, we had about the most apostate things I have every seen: Giant Virgin Mary Parades with people worshipping Virgin Mary and huge crosses as they cry and get wasted... satan has such a hold over the mass majority of people. Churchs here are now teaching to stay away from men in white shirts and ties.... This land is so apostate!! But I am seeing some small miracles every day :) We had these two awesome investigators come to church this week, and they seem way excited!!! So I am just going to do the best I can and put my faith in God. and hope for the best...

Anyways love you guys thank for the letters I wish I had more time to write every one of you back :)

April 13, 2014

This week was tough.. I found a lot of new investigators ,and had a ton of lessons. Remember how my goal was to beat 30 lessons and 10 news?? haha I seriously haven't had under 40 lessons and 10 news a week in like 10 weeks. My goals were so low. But this week we had 56 lessons and 18 news. But honestly I hate how people keep saying it was awesome because we had no one at church and all the menos less actives we got back to church didn't come back, and now we just had a bunch of new menos activos and none of my investigators came to church.. I was so bumbed... Like that's the only thing I focus on, and they all told me they wanted to go worshipp the dead ( there was a worship the dead holiday last Sunday where everyone worships the dead and gets hammered drunk..). oh well I am going to get them to church this week, haha and I also plan to contact everyone I talk to. I am also going to really put my faith in the Lord because I realize that with out his help, I can't do anything..
Well I love you guys. Keep working hard at wahat you do!!! Don't give in for a second. Do the best you can at everything.

April 6, 2014 Birthday of Our Savior, Anniversary of the Beginning of Our Church

About my week!!! So this week is a week of a lot of trials! So my way cool little kid who wants to get dunked's (cute Elder D) mom doesn't want him to get baptized because he is 9, and he needs to wait tell he is 12 even though she is a member too.. Freak! It broke my heart.. We are still working on them so we will see. My sick bro Josue got dunked this Sunday! He was so excited! even though not a single member came to the baptism. They all said they had better things to do.. Yeah and to top it off the Bishop was pissed because the kid asked him if I could baptize him instead of the Bishop.. oh well.. but little by little I guess right? haha Not a lot happened this week but the baptism

Loved conferenced too .Elder Erying was sick!!! Makes sure you guys all read those talks!! :) I love you guys please tell Grampa Wengreen that I will be praying for him and I hope he is alright..

March 31, 2014 Another Month- Wow! Went Fast!

Got a new comp!! His Spanish isn't perfect, and he is still learning how to teach, but he has a heart of gold and wants to work! Well my week was awesome. We had one of the best weeks of work ever recorded in the mission, and we went from 30 people at church to 55!! and we are going to have a baptism this week for this kid that I found out he went to church twice in a diffrent ward awhile back, and just wants to get baptised!. I have been working really hard with him. The kid has had a bunch of aweful things happen in his life, and didn't want to get baptised tell yesterday. It is really a miracle cause this ward is  helping out now. The active members we have are really helping us. I  am seeing this ward grow before my eyes and I love it!!! :)

I am working hard doing the best I can. I just want to tell you all to do the best you can in every thing you do :) You only get to have that day once :)

Time a Flying - March 24, 2014

Well fam what's up, how goes life? Well for me my comp has some issues.. so Pres. sent him back to the city, and he might go home poor kid.. anyways found a really sick kid who wants to come to church and get dunked. Just need to get the ward up and running and then we can start dunking people haha not really, but yeah.  Im contacting as much people as I can. but we are having little to no success got suped to LZ Zone Leader tell the other Zone leader comes back, but who knows how long that will be. He went to the city to talk to Pres. about something who knows what will happen. For me I just will put in the grind. but my weekly advice is true.Try to be more humble, and be more like Christ one way haha :) Love you guys
from the land also known as "I sweat my face off tell I die every night" but I found out that they sleep in hammocks. Every one here. So I'm going to set myself up a hammock :) might cost me a penny, but I think I might die with out one. haha
Anyways,
love you guys :)

Pictures from Mexico - Lizards??? Yum

Marching ON! March 17, 2014

Well first of all, Happy Birthday to Abram, Sophie, and my Mom!!!!!! Love you guys :)

And now for my week!! Well first of all I came to a realization that my area is deader then the dead dogs you find on the street!! I just found out that they haven't had a baptism in 8 months. No investigators come to church. They don't have investigators, and we had 15 members at church the last Sunday.. Yeah I have got my work cut out for me. I have to say I'm way excited to resurrect another area! Woo Hoo!! Well after we push in the grind last week to find people, we ended up finding  Josue, Jatzuri and Jesus. All three of them are down to be baptized, but we just have to get them to church... woot… . We past by the house of Josue, and he came to church. And the members were seriously like the happiest I have seen them. But I now see how important a well run ward is in having baptisms, so I guess that is the first thing that I have to do is resurrect my ward woot. hah
Well that's it on the week.
Love you guys,

March 10, 2014

My life went from laid and chill to freaking nuts in one day. For one I sweat my face off every second. Even in the night I sweat so much that I woke up in a puddle.. I actually don't mind for a second showering with cold water… haha. Anyways but I was walking on to a bus and totally slit my pants!!!! A giant rip with my Gs hanging out...... ah I'm so mad!!! Bettter learn to sew haha. Anyways which reminds me, remember when I ripped my shirt for the homecoming dance? Gosh so embarrassing... haha anyways my district is way cool. They work hard and follow all the rules, but they also aren't robots and don't mind having fun! It's so fun!! It's a lot more stressful, but I love it a milion times better then before!!! Gosh I love my mission right now!!!! In my area we don't have any investigators so I'm going to have start from square one, and we had 9 people in church to start out last week. It's tough but I'm exxcited. My comp is a little difficult, but I'm working with him. Apparently he has anger issues, and gets really mad, really easy, and he also has autism (I might have already said that) but I'm happy to be given this opportunity to help him, and to grow myself as a missionary. PS. I have gotten the packages, harmonica and all :) Thank you guys so much. I LOVE YOU ALL :)

February 24 - How Did It Go So Fast?

So I am going to tell you about my week of miracles!!! :) I was  praying Monday because it was just another tough day getting my comp to work. I was just praying that he would have a change of heart and that something would happen that would help me fulfill my potential and help him change, and then the next day we received a call that he was getting demoted to manor (junior comp) and special changed with our new Leader of the district. and that my new comp would be Elder Smith, and that I would be bumped up to mayor (senior comp!). Gosh it was a miracle!!! Elder Smith is the most obedient comp I have ever had!! Plus Elder Winland got special changed with us so we are a trio who have made a pact to change this mission!!!! ESO!!!! Im so excited!! We are also going to baptise three people this week! I'm way excited for that!! I hope it turns out! (same family from last week!) well we went to ruins today so I will send pictures I don't have a lot of time to write!
I love you guys!!!!!!!!

Another week. A Baptism!! Yahoo!

I had a baptism this week. His name is Jose Luis. it had to be one of the most special baptisms I have ever felt. He definitely will be an active member his whole life! His spirit and testimony is so strong! To be honest, my mission is not having alot of baptisms, but they feel that  if you have a baptism every 3 changes people look at you as successful. The truth is the only reason why it's hard to have baptisms is that the missionaries aren't following the rules because they believe that the only way to be happy is to break the rules, but this isn't true. To have a good area, the missionaries for 6 weeks have to work hard not expecting success (because of the 5 weeks baptism rule). The President is going to take me and my comp somewhere cool to celebrate our success! I am really excited! But I'm more excited for this following week to give my all to the Lord and become an instrument in his hands! I am hoping to baptize a little family this week. The son has stopped smoking (it is sad because to buy a cigarete all you need is l 2 pesos like 15 cents and they even light it for you..) and drinking (he is 15). He is a member but no one has visited him in 5 years and he has totally changed his life and his mom has changed too, and she and his little brother want to get baptised!! I am wayyyyy excited for them!! Hope it turns out!!! I love you guys, You guys are always in my prayers!!

Time a Flying - February 10, 2014

Well first of all my comp is deader then a dead dog on the street! and thats pretty dead haha anyways I have been pulling him around on a leash teaching every lesson solo planning everything. and he just doesn't want to do anything. He has this rule that after every baptism he takes the next week off.. but we are still putting in the grind, and we are going to have two new baptisms this week! woo! Im determined to resurect his enthusiasm, haha.. anyways we had a way cool experience this week!
One of the potential baptisms came to church 5 weeks in a row, and then he told us he wanted to be baptised! but then we didn't see him for 5 weeks.. but then he showed up to church yesterday, and told us that he went through some rough things, and also had a new job where he had to work on Sundays, and that he was praying the night before, and he received an answer that he needs to be baptised. Then he talked to his boss to see if he could change his hours and he could go to church and then he was bearing his testimony about the church and his testimony made me start to cry.. I am officailly a baby haha and then he told me thank you for the text messages they really helped me out and helped me find this happiness i feel now. It was the first time that I had felt the spirit that strong on my mission. Gosh I hope his baptism pans out!
well my life is routine.. we have good days, lots of bad days, but in the end we have success through our hard work just like life. Oh actually I changed my life up a little bit.  Bought 7 new pens different colors to change the day from day to day! Yeah I'm different haha.  Well I feel pretty dang confident with my Spanish. I don't know how I didn't think I could even imagine feeling this one day. haha I thinks it's cause the only time I use English is these Mondays haha.
Well I love you guys! This church is true :)
