So Marco got baptized!!! WOOT WOOT!!! It was a grand adventure for sure!! haha First of all the church ran out of water (here in Mexico we have these giant water tanks that every month a car comes by and fills it up) and we were only able to fill up the font to write below our knees.. haha But Marco being a stud, didn't want to wait and was like you can baptise me in this puddle. So we had his baptism in like this puddle in the font haha. I admit we had to do it three times because he had to literally lie down horiziontally in the water haha. It was soo fun! and even though it wasn't the best of circumstances Marco was awesome!!! :)
Sorry had to do some paper work today so didn't have alot of time
Love you guys,
Love, Elder D
Hey Elder, Congratulations! How cool that Marco was willing to go through with the baptism. That will be one for the memory books, huh? How cool! The kids in our stake went on Trek this week and we had them talk in sacrament meeting. They followed a brother whose great great grandpa was in the Willy Handcart Company that had such a dreadful time. His great great grandpa had a wagon and oxen and sold them so 9 other families could afford to cross the ocean and join the Willy Handcart co.. His wife was also pregnant. When they got to the USA from England there was another family with a son who could not afford a handcart so they offered to have them join with them and share the handcart which added almost another 100 pounds to the cart. THEN the two men were asked to take care of the company's wagon and the women had to pull the handcart. His great great grand mom had the baby in transit and they had to keep traveling so after the baby was born they had to keep going - no rest. They never murmured and felt they were so blessed. They were the only handcart out of 600 people -around 60 died - that ended up with more people than when they first started. The only one. His name is Webster and his statement on how spiritual the experience was even though it was so hard is written on the wall in the Memorial to the Handcart companies. So we Mormons do hard things because we have the gospel of Jesus Christ. Love you so much for doing the Lord's work. Have a blessed week. Tell Marco his decision to be baptized is being broadcast and cheered across the continent. :) Love and hugs, Grandmom and Grandpop D
