April 27, 2014 - It Is Going Fast

My week was a crazy week!! My ward has so many problems. All the members just fight every day, and people are slowly stopping to come to church. Our mission leader just said he wants nothing to do with the church, and stopped coming to church and refuses to talk to any member. We are still working super hard, but now we are about to have more people in sacrament meeting who aren't members then members. It's really frustrating, and I'm pretty stressed out... but we found a miracle person!!
We were contacting people, and we found this girl who had been going to church, but the missionaries couldn't baptise her because she was going to the wrong ward( not the one in her area), and the missionaries forgot to pass the reference, so she just never got baptised!! But she went to church 6 times, so she wants to get baptised next week!! WOO! I'm pumped! 1 hope it pans out!!
We found 30 new investigators this week who seem way cool! but all we need is for the members to quit fighting and help us out. Oh and I also had an awkard lesson where the mom (Bishop's wife) started bathing her 13 year old daughter, naked right in front of us.... Sometimes I ask my self where the freak am I?   hahaha  It was suuuuupper awkward ,and weird. We had to end that lesson and leave fast hahahaha....

Yeah but everything is good with me. Send my love to Grandpa Wengreen:( hope everything is alright with him I will be praying for him.

Love, Elder Davenport

  1. Elder Grandson, We had a great Sacrament Meeting Sunday. The speakers talked about the importance of family in our lives and one of the speakers told us how her home has become more a fortress than a sanctuary. She is finding that now she must do everything she can to guard her beautiful family from the influences of the world so they are protected and free from evil influences. She read a poem called, "Horacio at the Bridge" which is about brave young men who fought to keep the invaders out of their city. In a way that is what you are doing for the ward you are serving. You must keep trying to keep Satan from entering hearts as you struggle with the members there. Satan is so powerful and knows us as well as the Savior. Thanks so much for your strength, your testimony, and your example of serving our Heavenly Father even though it is challenging. We love you. We are praying for you. Love and hugs, Grandmom and Grandpa Davenport
