We had some interesting experiences this week. One of my favorite investigators, Flor, is really progressing well. We taught her from the scripture in Luke 13: 23- 25 about why few are saved. It talks about how the path is narrow and hard and those who don't follow it in the last day will knock and knock, but then God says, "No se de donde sois", which is to say that I don't know to where you stand. You can't enter my kingdom. She felt the spirit super strong and promised to prepare herself to get baptised next week. She really is awesome, by far my favorite investigator. It has been an awesome experience to watch her change her life, and try to prepare for this baptism. But it also brings up a good question. Where do we stand? Where do I stand? Am I living along this hard and narrow path. Will God be able to recognize me?? It is one thing that I want. I want God to be able to recognize me at the last day and to know where I stand. I have to say there is one thing that I actually learned from our multi zone conference this week and it was to live the charity of Christ and really love every one I teach. Because with this love, we can actually help those we teach more because we love them.
It is also a question we can all ask our selves, too.
Well, love you guys. Keep being awsesome :) LOVE hearing from you guys :)
Love Elder Davenport
Elder Grandson, excited for Sister Flor. Tell her your grandparents are so excited for her. She has so much joy ahead of her. When I was baptized I did not realize the importance of what you wrote here in your email. When you choose to stand for the Lord it means 1) praying daily 2) reading scriptures daily even if it is just a verse sometimes to keep in touch spirit wise with the Lord 3) attend church meetings 4) serving ,with love, someone daily. That is not a lot to ask but few people do it and those that do are so happy. This is truly the Gospel of Happiness if you do those things . I am helping with the singing in Primary and those songs teach gospel doctrine is such a wonderful way.
ReplyDeleteI love the song "Scripture Power". "Because I want to be like the Savior, and I can. I am reading His instructions, I'm following His plan. Because I want the power that His words will give to me. I am changing how I live, I am changing what I'll be. " Isn't that just awesome!!!! Do the children sing that song there? "Scripture Power, keeps me free from sin. Scripture Power is the power to win. Scripture Power every day I need the power that I get each time I read."
Love love love Primary. I talk about our Grandson going on a mission to Mexico almost every week. You are a great example of service and we love you and your mission is touching our ward's member's lives also. Have a wonderful week. Love eternally, Grandmom and Grandpop
