June 22, 2014 Another Baptism Coming Up!

This week for me was a little rough for one of my really awesome investigators that I found dropped us.. he had gone to church 3 times and was so excited to get baptized.. he believed in everything, too. But his family is part of some  Christian church so they told him he can't listen to us anymore.. It was way sad. But!! God Always answers prayers, and put someone else in our path to get baptized!! His name is Marco, the reason that I didn't think he was a whole lot interested was because I thought he was gay, haha funny quick story;
So we were teaching Marco and his friend Jonathan and his friend Jonathan asked us what the church stand point was on gays. So we told them that it is just like any other sin but that if it is a commandment of God we can overcome it and if they want to get baptized they have to follow this commandment and told him the regular lw of chastity stuff haha. Anyway they went super silent and we thought they are gay... this now just became super awkward... hahaha but we played it off in a respectful way and left. When we went back Marco told us that Jonathan doesn't want to listen anymore.. apparently he is cross dresser in the night.. eh..(actually he is always the first one at church, even beats us there) and even though we don't have a lot of people at church he loves the feeling he gets when he's there. We were almost not able to baptize him because we had to get special permision from Pres because he leaves for vacation after his 5th Sunday at church, But for the 1st time ever Pres actually approved him to get baptized this week!! WOO HOO!! :) a week early!! So we should have a baptism this week!! :D

We had an amazing experience this week!! We have this investigator Micaela who can't hear, or sign, or read.. but she loves the feeling she gets in the church. and can explain herself, but in her own litttle language. She is super smart, but when we talked to Pres about her getting baptized he said that she has to learn sign language, and someone has to teach her all the lessons so that she understands every little thing, even though we were able to comunicate to her pretty well with a white board, and she has an awesome desire to get baptized.. and we have to get permision from her mom.
So her mom lives like 6 hours away.. so I kid you not, Micaela (the girl who is 26) tells her mom to come visit through her sister, and she shows up the next day and gave her permission!! :) but now we just have to find a person who knows sign language, but we are making progress! It might take her 6 months but one day she will get baptised!! :D

That's it folks love you guys. thank for the emails :) I am tired but I bought some good food so I will eat it to have energy :)

  1. Dear Elder, So excited about what you are doing as a missionary. Every soul counts Elder. Keep it up!! Once they get baptized be sure to tell them that they need to learn from the scriptures and pray with all their might. Your Grandmom did not know to do that and my whole life and family were affected. Your testimony has to be fueled every day with scriptures and prayer or the adversary will try to destroy it. Love you for all you are doing and the example you are setting for each one of us. Have a great week. Love, Grandmom and Grandpop D
