Has It Really Come To And End? Loved My Mission!!

Hi!!   So yeah this is my last time emailing before I see you people in person :D yeah so its been a little rough this week because I LOVE Oaxaca, and I loved serving a mission, and I guess part of my self just wants to keep being a missionary forever. But I understand how God has diffrent things in store for me. I have to move on. I can't live in the mission. But I have to say I am so thankful for the chance I had to serve the Lord for 2 years. I'm so greatful :) They really were the best two years of my life. Or I think better said the best two years FOR my life. I was able to see the real importance the gospel has, and how living it and loving it, is where TRUE happiness is found. My mission was perfect. I got the chance to give my all to Him, and be his instrument, and I saw so many miracles, so many people's lives change. But watching it happen to their lives changed my life. I love the people here!  I love Oaxaca. I see now that true happiness is really founded in serving others and serving the Lord.

July 1 - 4 Baptisms

Yeah, so like I am really going to miss my mission. I also realized this week that God loves every one of his children.

We found this lady who had lots of problems. She got beat to the point that she is now a little weird.. but she was praying that she could find Jesus Chirst when we knocked on her door. It was super special to see that God makes us an instrument in his hands :)

The last of June 2015 Abigail - a Miracle

So we had an amazing baptism this week :) 

Abigail who was an investigator got baptised this week :) I'M SO HAPPY!!! I thought I wasn't going to see another person get baptized, but God really blessed us, and after 4 years of listening to missionaries she got baptized :) I'm so lucky I get to be a missionary :) Every day I see so many miracles. I wish I could tell you all about them. I love my mission.

I guess it's finally time to come home, because I love showering from a bucket,

 and I love washing my clothes by hand. And I eat my food with only a tortilla :)

June 29, 2015 - Wow Workin Hard!

So this week was a little tough. We worked hard, but there isn't alot of work in this area.. But we found 4 awesome people this week :D and they seem like they are willing to get baptized. They just have to go to church 4 more times. but I am just trying my hardest to work my utter hardest, and go out with a bang. My companion is willing, and I hope he can get animated to. I know he will, the Lord is going to bless us :) I'm excited!

One Month Left! June 18, 2015!

May 8, 2015 Did I Say Another Baptism? Oh Yeah! How GREAT Is That?

Hey, so this week, kind of, was awesome!! and kind of sucked.. so we had our getting super awesome  - we had a baptism planned out and the ward is doing awesome and we had like 5 baptisms planned. But then Sunday came and got transferred.. 

And they sent me away to another struggling area.. haha oh well, also, in my generation there are like 30 missionaries leaving so they are closing like 15 areas.. so what they did is they paired off all the "dieing" missionaries and sent them off to all the areas they are going to end.. kind of sucks.  I'm on my old zone haha in the hardest area in the zone.. with a comp who is a little disanimated.. (from my generation. He actually was my companion a year and half ago. He is a super cool guy :) I'm really excited we are going to go out with a bang :)

Oh Messias got baptized. It was a huge fight, but he finally got the courage to stand up to his mom to get baptized :)

Love you guys :) Baptism of Messias and river in the streets (raining like evry day) Chicatanas the giant ants that leave the ground once a year when it rains are yummy. Better toasted but raw they are good too :)

May 30, 2015 Love Baptisms!!! Love Sealings!! Love These People!!!

Ok, this week was AWESOME!!! :D So to start off, our recent convert family fulfilled a year, and we gave them the temple lessons, and after a few weeks to clear every thing up they got sealed!! :D So special! I got to invite the missionaries who baptized them (my excomp Elder Muir), and they came all the way to see it. It was SO special to watch them get sealed to their two little kids. gosh it was the best feeling, and then they just started crying. It was the coolest feeling ever :)

Also my investigator Messias, whose parents threatened to kick him out of the house 3 months ago, is going to get baptized today at 7 :D It was a tough battle to get him to get baptized, but he finally will do it :)

Also found this family of 3 who accepted a date to get baptized, and then they went to church and loved it :D Super golden! They have  4 little tiny kids too who all loved it.

On a roll! Celia's Baptism - May 18, 2015

So this week Celia got baptized!! :D It's actually a super cool story!! She has listened to  50 missionaries over the course of like 10 years (her kids are members), but she lived a very lost life. haha She and her husband weren't loyal. she at work would help drug her clients haha. She drank, and drank alot of coffee. But then she just felt that she needed to change. And we showed up, and she was like I want to get baptized. Tell me what I have to do and then tell me a day, and I will get baptized!! So we told her what she had to do and then she just changed. It was super hard for her but she made a 360 degree change, accepted the gospel, and now is super awesome :D 

Um we, also, almost got jumped by a crazy drunk. haha (first time I actually almost got attacked haha) He was like fighting people on the street, and then he yelled kill the gringo and  ran at me. haha. But then I shook his hand, and he forgot he wanted to kill me haha funny.

May 3, 2015 Mother's - They Are Great!!

Hey so this week first of all thank you for your prayers as my comp is doing alot better now. He had some family problems. But he is alot better.

So this week or the next week, we are going to help seal another family!! He just barely completed a year and we have been helping them alot. and they are super excited to get sealed!! This family is also the converts of one of my companions Elder Muir. Who was like my best friend.

So we found this girl named Elizabeth she has this little tiny baby, and is like 18, and has a really immature inactive member boyfriend, Who doesn't treat her very well. But this girl is amazing. She is golden, and then she came early to church with her little baby, and then the next week she brought her boyfriend, and then we stopped by, and they accepted a day to get married :) 

So I love you all. Also in my ward the attendance rate has now doubled :D The lord is really hastening his work

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!! Hey make your mom have the best mothers day ever!! And realize everything she has done for you.

I love moms :D But I have THE greatest mother ever!!

April 26, 2015 Another Baptism!!

So this week we had a baptism! It was super awesome because the dad wouldn't let her get baptised but then we talked to him and he let her get baptised!! :D 

Also my companion is having some family issues so if you guys could pray for him that would be awesome :)

Hey Well I mean I could tell you guys I walked in the sun alot, ate lots of tortillas, ate lots of chiles, and got yelled at by drunks, but that happens a lot haha.

We had a lesson with this one family that was super special, We knocked on the door, and this cute 10 year old daughter answered the door, but the mom isn't interested so told her to not let us in. I get along really good with the girl (we are homies ;)) haha So we talked to her, and I realized that she was super sad, but she wouldn't tell me why she was sad. We taught her about prayer, and that whatever she asks God with faith, it will be given. So she prayed right there on her porch for her dad who had been drinking for weeks and started to cry, and then the mom heard and her heart softened and she let us in. and then the entire family (of 8 including drunk dad) showed up and we taught them, and the mom started to cry, and said she didn't realize that we were the angels God had sent. It was super special. Even though it might be hard for them to go to church because the are super poor and all work Sundays to pay for their dads alcohol..

But I had an amazing week and I love you all. I always am praying for you guys every day.

April 20,2015 Pineapple and Chili? Terrific!!

APRIL 5, 2015 CONFERENCE ! YAHOO!

Hey sorry I have been so crappy writing lately haha. 

So this week was Easter Sunday!!Yeah and conference!!! Here in Mexico people are super apostate and have catholic church walks where you take giant virgin maries and march around town, or you tie yourself to a cross and walk for like 8 hours (some towns actually nail them to the cross..) yeah it was aweful!

We were going to have another baptism this week!!! a 6 day baptism!! Found a guy that is only in town every 20 days because of work and has gone to church a bunch of times and we were going ot baptize him Saturday, but Friday we made the mistake of stopping by, and his mom heard us talking about baptism and started reciting prayers telling satan to get away from her son,,, sucky haha and then she threatened to kick him out and then he decided to wait to get baptized haha oh well next month :) haha 

Oh and today the bus drivers did an Oaxaca blockade! which sucked because I went to visit my coverts and we ended up taking 3 special taxis (SUPER expensive) and walking for 3 hours to get back.. sucked I will send some pictures haha.

I am super happy!! I loved conference!! Kind of a temple theme ha? haha I loved President Packers talk, I honestly loved every talk!! I also loved the talk about how he said don't walk, run. Because honestly we shouldn't do anything half way. Average is the opposite of excellence. LOVED IT!!

Happy Easter! Chrsit is the son of God. He lives and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is the Christ. And I know he is my savior.

OH and also THAILANDS GETTING A TEMPLE!!!! :D So if you are serving a misison in Thailand you are amazing cough*Sister Holmes!!

March 30,2015 Wow going fast!

Hey so real fast - this week was a good week. We had a baptism, and stuff, and we are just waiting for the other two to get back from vacation to have their baptisms.

Found out that some of our main investigators are having drinking and chastity problems.  Great haha. We had 11 investigatores go to church, plus a family of 4!! :D so excited they seem like they have potential, or just want money from the church - one of the two.. haha

Best District Ever!!! March 22, 2015

Hey so this week in a sec. So I have a new comp which is awesome even though the rumor is he just about killed his other comp, which is alright haha. It's sad because with my other comp he like changed and instead of trying to do stupid things was actually excited, and we were working hard and having alot of amazing experiences. My new comp is named Elder Vega he is chill from Ecuador and stuff. We might have 3 baptisms this week. Their date was for the 18th of April, but we might move it up because they want to go to efy and stuff. but we found this super cool family of 5 that seem like they have some real potential.

It's so awesome to see when someone lives the gospel the change it makes in their hearts. Just another testimony that the church is true.

Oh the baptisms name are Jesus, Juan, Carlos and Valeria. Super awesome cool kids :)

Details on my area! Humbling - March 16, 2015

 I need to tell a little bit about my area. My area is the land of the thousand churches.  Not really, but there is a church on every corner. It is the gangster party of Oaxaca where we can't go up the mountain at night. My investigators are all super poor. Example,  I asked if I could use the bathroom and because the house is a tin can, he just told me to pick a corner. But they are the sweetest family ever!! So humbling.  Well actually we are teaching like 6 super cool families with  15 kids in each house. The main reason we are teaching them is the kids just love us. I think all these little kids just think I'm a giant teddy bear or something and always want to hug me haha. I actually learned to love my comp, and we actually turned out getting along a lot, and he was  working as hard as I was, and I saw a change in him. Just another testimony that if you persistently love everyone, and are willing to change yourself you can get along with anyone, and they will love you back.

I had 4 baptisms this week, but in Bosque (my last area) the mom Juana, and her sweet 3 kids Carmen, Emileo, and Alex wanted to get baptized and asked me if I could do it. So I traveled back to my old area, saw all my old converts and members whom I love. The little girl who is 9 almost didn't get baptized because she was terrified of water, just like her grandma Mago (remember?) and we had another 4th quarter pep talk in the water. and it took 40 minutes, but she finally got baptised!!! WOOHOO :D awesome
