January 27, 2014

A little about this week with my new comp who is a "gaddy" (breaks all the rules: girls, members, video games, and all)  haha, anyways I told him straight up we are going to work way hard, and he isn't going to break the rules, and is going to get rid of his psp. And he said yep. haha and we worked really hard, had 53 lessons,  put alot of fechas, and are going to have 3 baptisms this Saturday. They are three little girls: Lori, Hannah , Jhoselenn. They are the coolest kids ever (9,9,11). They read their scriptures every night,  go to church solo every Sunday, and are starting to reactivate their families who haven't come to church in 15 years. Really the best things to watch is these girls families change because of their faith. Really I think our members need the faith of these 3 little girls haha I'm so excited for them! plus it will be my first baptisms! So I'm way excited! I am short on time today but that is it total!y :) I love you guys. You guys are always in my prayers.

Hi Everyone

These past 6 weeks have been a grind.. haha but I have to say that I can now say that my area is back up and running! Better then ever whoo hoo, but really I'm so tired I might just die.. we usually have lessons at 8 and so we can't study..  I'm going to start waking up earlier if we have lessons in the morning. We have 23 potential dates scheduled, and I'm going to say 5 sure ones for this month next( I hope haha). Because the thing is simply getting people to come to church. Really it isn't because they don't want to come. It is usually because they either have work, don't have money, or a car and live in the goma (really far) haha. But we had an experience, really cool with this family who have fechas for baptism. We were asking them if they knew the Book of Mormon was true, and then they started bearing their testimonies about how when they were reading the book they felt this peace that they had never before felt and how they know these things are true. Really this our purpose not to obligate people to get baptised, but to help them find out for themselves that this is the church of God and then to help them make this covenant of baptism with God. Really I don't care if I have 30 fechas. I won't be fully pleased tell every person that needs to hear this gospel from me in this area hears it.  I have to say I love being a missionary and I LOVE YOU GUYS :) I want to challenge you guys to read the scriptures every day as a family :) Well you guys are always in my prayers! Love you guys,
Love, Elder D

Hola Amigos

Here is a little about my week! So this week was awesome except I think I'm so tired I might just die all the time... jaja yeah, but really God is blessing this work, and this work IS growing we just need follow every prompting, and do everything we possibly can and God will do the rest!!! God is preparing his people. We just need to find them!! This week has been a physical drain, and I am really just tired haha, but one thing I learned this week is that if we are praying to see the hand of God we will see it. It is like the wind in John 2:7 ( I think haha) the spirit of god is everywhere helping everyone and helping them become ready for our message. We had an amazing week again but really this area is about to start maintaining itself because the members are really helping us. At first they were annoyed about how persistent we were being, but now they are starting to love accompanying us, and are starting to share the gospel with their friends! I hope I can stay in this area long enough to see the fruits of my labors, but I will go wherever God needs me! :) Anyways I love you guys! You guys are always in my prayers :) L

After The Holidays - January 6, 2014!!

About this week!! This week has really been in one word, a miracle!!! I was determined to change this area into an area where we can bring as many people who are prepared by the Lord for baptism into the waters of baptism! and really I said tons of prayers, and did my very and utterly best, and put my faith in God and this week has really harvested the fruits!!!! Wow is the only word I can describe!!!First there was a rock in my shoe or more like a pebble haha, but every time I felt it, it reminded me to pray, and ask God to direct me to his children who are ready for the gospel. So I kept it in my shoe, haha (yeah I know kind of lame..) haha, but anyways we always found people to teach, and were always progressing our investigators!!!! iI also really focused on following every rule including the rule about putting a date for baptism which alot of people think is impossible so they don't do it!.. but really following that, and  trying and praying to help my investigators progress towards baptism really worked. We also were extremly persistent with the members to help us and have this work be their work and it really helped!!! This week I helped more people progress than any other week. I also realized that this work is not our work. It is God's, and if we follow every tool, and do everything we can, God will harvest - not us. Our work isn't ours. It's God's. We are just instruments!! When I did that, we had more success then I could of even thought!! We put 18 dates for baptism had 12 (inv) people at church, and had 22 lessons with a member (before I had never had more then 9 dates, and 5 people in church and 9 lessons with a member) God really is preparing his children!!! Yeah I might feel tired out of my mind every day, but I know that I'm doing the lords work :)
I love you guys
